LAZARBEAM

Fortnite’s ICON Series paved the way for famous artists and influencers to leave their mark on the game for eternity. This series originally began with American DJ Marshmello, before others like Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, Kathleen “Loserfruit” Belsten, and others joined in on the fun. The year 2020 continued this growing series with another Australian personality recognized chiefly for his Fortnite content on YouTube.

Lannan “LazarBeam” Eacott rode the wave of Fortnite’s popularity into superstardom. His efforts paid off when Epic Games collaborated with the Aussie to make him an exclusive member in the ICON Series. After destroying the human race during Judgment Day, the T-800, the cyber killer many will recognize from the Terminator movie series, has arrived in Fortnite Battle Royale much to the dismay of fans around the world.

Epic Games tend to follow a similar layout and model, so the T-800 likely knocked developers out of their comfort zone. Luckily, Epic has done justice to the famous Terminator character for its Fortnite look. The appearance of the T-800 reflects that of its movie counterpart and there is no more apt character to use when collecting deletions and internal SkyNet routing.

MARIGOLD

There have always been rumors about Midas’ female complexion. Concept art was brought to light shortly after players saw the golden character Midas in Chapter Two – Battle Season Two. More than a year later, Epic Games used the concept art of kitsunexkitsu to produce a female Midas, known as Marigold.

Despite the long wait, players finally had a chance to represent Marigold on March 9. The “Gold Touch Pack”, as Epic called it, cost players 1,500 V-Bucks. Marigold is equipped with two distinct styles that can be chosen and some other cosmetics in the game. It brought fans of Chapter 2 – Season 2 back to Happy Place and became an instant classic.

XENOMORPH

As the Terminator, Epic Games managed to capture the Alien movie series somehow during Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 5. Owning two of the most iconic killing machines in cinema history was incomprehensible at the time. However, when the Item Shop changed on February 26, the perfect organism stood there waiting for players to spend their V-Bucks.

Although Fortnite’s target audience might not understand, Epic totally hit the target in the Xenomorph look. Everything from the movement to the design is impressive. Xenomorph might not be available to everyone, but it added another layer within the reach of Epic Games, and they didn’t fail to produce an accurate representation of the terrible alien.

GRIMEY

A new addition to the Battle Royale list via “Marked Man Set”, Grimey is a weird character who first leaked before Patch v16.20. This new beauty outfit finally entered the Item Shop on April 25, accompanied by a number of other cosmetics. Unlike the various Fortnite variants, Grimey presents an original concept based entirely on player qualifiers.
