Harlingen, Texas (KVEO). It looks like SpaceX will try to launch the Starship’s latest prototype, Serial # 9, or SN9, in Boca Chica on Thursday.
According to SpaceX, the goal is to raise the prototype around 12.5 kilometers and re-direct the spacecraft to land vertically.
SpaceX sent eviction notices to residents of Boca Chica at 8 a.m. Thursday, and the weather should be right for the launch site.
The launch was scheduled for Monday 25 January but has been delayed.
In December, the last Starship prototype made a fire landing. The spacecraft had all three predator engines operating at over 41,000 feet.
The ship performed an abdominal turn maneuver and then corrected. The landing prototype took place at an angle before the explosion.
