YouTube introduces new features that make it easy for users to save their mobile data. This feature will be available to both Android and iOS users.
So far, YouTube has allowed users to switch between different broadcast resolutions based on their preferences. To store your data, introduce an automatic mode that automatically adjusts the video quality based on network availability. The latest features give you more control over the quality of video streams on your mobile network.
How Youtube new feature works to save data
Before continuing, please note that this feature is still being published. If not, it should be available in the next few days. Here’s what to do if you have:
Open the YouTube app on your smartphone. Go to settings inside the app. Here you will see a new section called “Video Quality Settings”.
Users have a variety of broadcast-quality options available on their mobile network. For example, you can select High Quality or Save Data.
As it suggests, the first option means increased mobile data consumption. The more data you have, the lower the image quality.
According to The Verge, the “best quality” is up to 720p. Data provisioning, on the other hand, has a resolution of up to 480p.
If you don’t want to customize the broadcast resolution, you can always select the “automatic” mode.
Keep in mind that you can also customize the broadcast resolution for a particular video. The setting changes apply only to the video you are currently watching.
