Nvidia released another update to set ShieldTV and ShieldTV Pro Entertainment in the box. The Shield Experience 8.2.2 (32.6.509.0) upgrade applies to 2015 and 2017 box-models and provides additional features, security updates, and bug fixes.
The main improvement of this Android system update is support for a shiny new console from both Sony and Microsoft’s gaming world. Yeah. With a reliable shield, you can now use the Sony DualSense PlayStation 5 controller or the Microsoft Xbox wireless controller optimized for Xbox Series X / S.
The new console is paired and works as expected. You can find it in Nvidia Shield’s Bluetooth detection mode. Then check the pairing with the Sony PlayStation + Share / Clip button or the Microsoft Xbox Pairing button. You will then be able to use these controllers to play your original streaming Android games. Streaming and Playing Cyberpunk 2077 via GeForce This box could be a better experience than Microsoft / Sony’s shiny new show …
Another feature of the 8.2.2 upgrade is support for Control4 home automation systems. Finally, you can now disable volume control notifications in your settings.
As for bug fixes, there are some fixes for annoying failures in system rendering, network/storage, audio features, and accessories to improve stability and compatibility. The updater will also benefit from the latest release of Android security with the December 2020 Android security patch applied to this update.
