Nikon has launched the retro looking Nikon Z fc camera. This is a DX preview camera with a 20.9 megapixel sensor. It offers the latest technology and features packed in a vintage body. The Nikon Z fc has the latest camera features for self-portraits, video blogs and street photography. The new Z-mount camera should be compact and lightweight, easy enough for the photographer to carry.
The Nikon Z fc packs a 20.9-megapixel CMOS sensor and an EXPEED 6 image processor. The camera’s included 209-dot hybrid autofocus system covers about 85 percent of the frame. Eye detection has auto focus feature which focuses on the eyes of the subject including humans and animals. This feature helps in taking clear pictures even when the subject is moving. The camera also has an ISO dial from 100 to 51200.
Nikon Z fc Specification
- The camera boasts 4K recording. You can shoot slow motion video using 1080p / 120p setting or 4x / 5x slow motion mode inside the camera.
- Users can create 4K timelapse with the help of built-in interval timer feature. The new Z fc camera has a continuous shooting option of 11FPS. Other features include an LCD monitor with a touch screen that can flip the camera.
- The camera includes a 0.39-inch electronic viewfinder (EVF) and features a 2.36m-dot OLED display. The camera has a single SD card slot.
- The retro-style camera design, with black and silver color options, grabs the attention of camera users. Although the company has brought 6 different color versions of the Nikon Z fc – white, coral pink, mint green, sand beige, amber brown and natural gray.
- Along with the Nikon Z fc, the company announced two new lenses for the camera body. This includes the NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm F3.5-6.3 VR, and the NIKKOR Z 28mm F2.8 (SE).
Availability and price
The Nikon Z fc will be available in the US in a kit configuration from the end of July 2021. The camera body will be available for $ 960 (about $ 71,000) and when combined with the NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm F3.5-6.3 VR. The lens, an estimate will sell for $ 1,100 (about 8,715 rupees). However, the NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f / 3.5-6.3 VR lens will be available separately for $ 300 (about Rs 22,000). The special edition NIKKOR Z 28mm f / 2.8 (SE) lens will be available as a kit for $ 1,200 or separately for $ 300. The price and availability of the Nikon Z fc camera and the new lens in India are unknown.
