A day after launching the feature to transfer chats from WhatsApp to Telegram on iPhone, Telegram Messenger released this feature to all iOS and Android users. As users make important decisions about changing their instant messaging platforms by following the updated privacy policy and terms of service for WhatsApp, Telegram and Signal are fighting a fierce battle to get more users’ attention. While Signal offers stickers to users who switch from WhatsApp, Telegram has taken a big step forward and removed one of the biggest hurdles when switching messaging programs – moving chat.

Telegram for iOs: How to Transfer chat from WhatsApp to Telegram
Transferring chats from WhatsApp to Telegram for iOS is also easy. Here is a step-by-step guide to guide users to transfer their conversations using iPhone.
- After opening the WhatsApp messenger app, users have to find the chat they want to transfer and open it.
2. After opening the chat, users will need to click on the contact’s name at the top of the chat.
3. In the window that opens, users will need to scroll down and find the “Export chat” option.
4. Users who choose to export the chat will be able to attach or unsubscribe the media file, and users will be able to choose their preferred option.
5. When the export file is ready, users will have several options in the iOS share sheet. With the exception of Telegram, all the other options will share a .zip file containing conversations in a text document, along with files for sharing. However, by choosing Telegram, users will be able to select the contact with which they want to link the chat. Once you select the desired contact name, the entire message thread will be transferred from the Facebook proprietary platform to the Telegram chat window. Every imported message will be listed in this window.
