TikTok was banned in India last year along with 58 Chinese apps due to privacy concerns. A few weeks after the ban, Instagram launched Reels. This is a new tab for exploring and creating short videos.
As the platform continues to grow, Instagram is making some changes to make it more reliable. This is strange because the reel itself was a clone idea, but I did.
Even today, some users prefer to record video on TikTok and then upload it to both platforms at the same time. This makes sense as far as social media access is concerned.

However, Instagram doesn’t seem to be very enthusiastic about users who might treat Lille as a secondary platform. As a result, Instagram states that it will change the algorithm if it detects the TikTok watermark in a video. If user uploads to reels, we do not recommend users to reel videos.
Instagram does not hide or block the videos, but it does not actively promote them. It will still appear on your profile and in your followers, but if you want to gain attention in the bobbin section of the app, you are in luck.
In an emailed statement to The Verge, Instagram spokesperson Devi Narasimhan said: I’m good at using ranking signals to help people predict whether they find spools fun and if they should recommend them. ”
This change might be frustrating for a lot of creative people, but it was completely inevitable. Given that Instagram Reels currently has a large content creator base, it is clear that it is not possible to promote other platforms. TikTok’s addition of watermarks to the video could be the main reason for this change. However, it’s difficult for creators who need to create the same content twice.
