Step 1: Open WhatsApp and tap Settings.

Step 2: Now tap on Chats, Chat Backup and select the Google account you want to back up the data.

Step 3: Tap on Make Backup. Your WhatsApp chats will be backed up to Google Drive.

How to restore WhatsApp Chats from Google Drive backup?

Step 1: Reinstall WhatsApp on your smartphone, open it and verify your number.

Step 2: Tap Restore when prompted to restore your conversations and media to Google Drive.

Step 3: After the restore process is complete, press Next. Your chats will be displayed once the activation is complete.

How to restore WhatsApp Chats from local backup?

Step 1: To restore WhatsApp backup locally, download a file manager app on your smartphone.

Step 2: In the File Manager app, go to your storage or SD card, then WhatsApp, then finally Database. If your data is not stored on the SD card, you may see “Internal storage” or “Main storage” instead. Copy the latest backup file to the Database folder of your new device’s local storage.
