Google Maps has recently added many new features, such as limited costs, real-time information on traffic conditions, and more. This shows that Google Maps is not just a navigation app that helps users move from one point to another. One of the most important features of the app is that it allows users to dump a place on the map, save it, and share it with friends and family.
This feature can be very useful when a particular location has no address or is out of the street network. Pull PIN is available for Android, iOS and desktop users.
How to pin location in Google Maps
Follow these steps to drop the location of a marker on Google Maps for Android, iOS, and the desktop.
- Open the Google Maps app
- Long press on the desired location, and you will see a red pin on that location now
- You will see a bunch of options for that location at the bottom
- You can now start navigating by tapping on “directions”, “start”
- Users also get an option to “save” and “share” the pin location on other social media channels including WhatsApp
If you want, you can also mark the location of this pin in the app by tapping “Label.” Then just add the type of place (school / university, gym, etc.).
You can save character space in three categories: Favorites, I want to go, and starred places. You can add or remove lists and categories to the app. Users can also choose whether these lists are private, public, or shared with other users. With Google Maps, users can create groups with specific users where they can all pinpoint their location and plan their trip.
For those who do not know, Google has begun introducing a feature in Maps that offers a limited number of passenger route costs.
