Until recently, Apple Watch users could only stream their favorite songs, podcasts, and playlists to their Apple watches. Starting May 21, they will be able to download and listen to their favorite songs and podcasts via the device.
Spotify has announced that Apple Watch will release the option to download playlists, podcasts, and albums. This feature allows users to access their favorite audio content even when their smartphone is turned off.
“All users are already able to play songs, albums, playlists, and podcasts,” Spotify said in a statement, adding that premium users can now download whatever they want for a real-time, offline, phone-free experience.
Users will need a Spotify Premium account for Apple Watch Series 3 or later of WatchOS 6.0 or later, and the latest version of the Spotify app to use this service. Apple has announced the launch of this feature in the watch, which will be available to users around the world in the coming weeks.
