If you haven’t added music to your Story before, finding a way to do so can be overwhelming. But this is not difficult.
Want to learn how to add music to your Instagram story?
Here is a quick guide to help you.
Follow Step to add music to Instagram
Step 1: Install the Latest Version of the Instagram App
Before you can add music to your Instagram story, you need to make sure you have the latest version of the app on your phone.
Step 2: Create a New Instagram Story
Open the Instagram app and go to your profile. The next step is to create a new Instagram story.
To do this, click on the “+” sign on your profile thumbnail. This option is located in the upper left corner of the screen.
Alternatively, you can swipe right from the Instagram feed screen.
This allows you to take pictures and videos using your smartphone. Then click the Sticker button at the top of the screen.

You will see a lot of Instagram Stories stickers on your screen. Choose a music sticker for your story.
Step 3: Search for Music to Use on Instagram
Click the music sticker to view Instagram’s music library. You can choose from thousands of songs in this library.
This library contains three different options: Popularity, Genre, and Mood. You can use these options as filters to find the best music for your Instagram story.
Alternatively, you can enter the name of the song you are searching for in the search bar. The search bar is located at the top of the screen.
All songs in this library are licensed for use in Instagram stories.
Step 4: Preview the Song to Add to Your Instagram Story
Before you select a song to add to your Instagram Story, you can see if it fits. Instagram provides a preview before you finally add it.
To see a preview, click the play button or “arrow” next to each song’s name.
When searching for music using the “Genre” and “Mood” options, you must first decide what kind of music you are looking for.
Previewing is a good way to make sure your music matches your Instagram story.
Once you have decided on a song, you need to decide which part you want to cover in the story. To do this, hold down the selection box and drag. You can bring it to the part of the song that you want to play in the story.
Step 5: Decide on the Length of the Music
Once you’ve decided which song to add to your Instagram story as music, you need to know when to play that song.
If you are using still images, the minimum music length for Instagram Story is 1 second. On the other hand, the maximum length is 15 seconds.
To change the length of the music, click the “15” button on the left. For video posts, the song length will automatically adjust according to the length of the video.
Music for Instagram Stories is set up to allow you to add lyrics to any music in Instagram Story. This happens when the lyrics are available. If not available, the lyrics will not appear on the screen during the preview.
Step 6: Publish the Instagram Story
After completing the above steps, your Instagram story is almost ready for music. In addition to sticker music, you can also add other stickers to your story before it’s published.
