On November 16th, Harley-Davidson announced the latest bicycle, the actual bicycle.
Serial 1 is the first electric bicycle to be a new product line from an American motorcycle manufacturer. Harley-Davidson unveiled its first electric motorcycle, LiveWire, last year, but soon ran into production problems (with batteries).
The company doesn’t share much about the features and prices of new bicycles, but spokespersons email it for bike enthusiasts, riders, and first-time users. It will be an electric bicycle. This means that when you pedal the electric motor, the battery will provide additional power for your riding.
As you can see in the videos and photos released this week, the Serial 1 has a motor in the center and a splitter cable inside to provide a clean look and lighting for night riding.
The design, with white wheels and an old-fashioned handlebar, was inspired by the first Harley Davidson motorcycle in 1903.
The frame clearly says Harley-Davidson, so even “e-bike only” is a Harley. You can’t pre-order your bicycle yet, but you can sign up for updates on the new dedicated site. By November 16th, you’ll find out more about Harley’s latest electric cars.
