Game developer and publisher Garena has announced its 2021 esports roadmap for the mobile title Free Fire.
According to the announcement, the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) will return in two versions in April and November. Additionally, the publisher will be launching a new event called Free Fire All-Stars.
In 2020, a pandemic replaced FFWS with the Free Fire Continental Series. However, the competition is back in April, with teams from 13 regions set to compete for the largest prize pool in history, worth $ 2 million.

FFWS will start playing on April 24th and the tournament final will begin on May 1st. Details of the contest format and participating regions will be revealed in the coming weeks.
To celebrate the return of FFWS, Galena has introduced a new logo for international events. In addition, tournament cups are expected to be designed to reflect the new brand of competition.
As mentioned earlier, FFWS will be held again in November, but no information has been revealed about the event yet.
Free Fire has become one of the many mobile esports that has grown in popularity over the past 12 months. In January 2021, the Brazilian championship title, Liga Brasileira de Free Fire 2021 Series A, reached 449,565 spectators. Additionally, according to esports charts, Free Fire Continental Series 2020 Asia recorded an average of 828,986 concurrent viewers.
In addition to FFWS, Garena also announced Free Fire All-Stars. This is an event where some of the best influencers and professional players line up and compete with each other. The event is scheduled for July and details will be announced in the coming months.
It’s not surprising to see Galena announce an increase in her prize pool and her return to an international event, says Esports Insider. We hope that the three events will move forward as the number of viewers emphasizes the popularity of the title, especially in Asia.
