Fortnite players can stream their games to their friends on Houseparty, increasing the game’s integration and the popular social media app.
Epic Games announced the feature on April 5.
Game streaming is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. In its announcement, Epic announced the rollout of the feature for other gaming platforms.
In November 2020, Fortnite introduced video chat through the Houseparty app.
How to stream Fortnite on Houseparty
You will first need to download the Houseparty app on your Android or iOS device.
Link your Houseparty account to your Epic Games account.
Activate “Fortnite Mode” in Houseparty and start streaming to play.
Your Houseparty friends will be notified when they go live.
You will also receive notifications when your friends join the live broadcast.
There will be a water count in the left-center of the screen that shows the number of people watching the live broadcast. It will be indicated by an eye icon. On Houseparty, viewers will see an eye icon in the upper left corner of their video hive.
If you want to turn off Fortnite mode and video chat only with Houseparty, you can do that by turning it off in privacy settings. This way, you will still be able to play the game and video chat with your friends through Houseparty, but not your game’s live stream.
Epic Games also noted in a blog that payment information will not be streaming to Houseparty. However, the lobby, menus, and gameplay will be broadcast if these screens interact during the live broadcast.
