We have a brand new trailer for The Witch Queen, the upcoming expansion for Destiny 2! This time we are taken to the world by the Throne of Sly Savathun, the huge swamp she calls home, and filled with traps and all her secrets. As the Guardian, it seems we will be brave enough to let the unknown find everything she has hidden while we fight her henchmen.
The trailer is definitely paired with voiceover from Savathun himself, who mocks us with his power over his domain. In her honor, she tries to convince us to hang out and go home again, which is a nice upgrade over the receptions we usually get!
If we reject the tempting offer, we can discover what appears to be a diverse cornucopia of danger. We see, of course, the swampy outskirts of the world of Savathun, as well as the royal structures that we can only assume are the center of his manger. Add to that the dark and damp caverns we’ve come to expect from the hive, and it looks like there’s a whole lot of sightseeing ahead of us.
What can we see historically from this trailer? Well, we hear Ikora tells us at the beginning of the trailer where we are, which is to be expected as she will be very familiar with Savathun’s mischievous nature at this point.
We also see some creepy Black Pyramid ships at times through the trailer. There’s no doubt that Savathoon is messing with them too because it’s unlikely she’ll let them lie on her front lawn.
Other than small sips of wisdom, we’re just left with a reminder that The Witch Queen expansion is near! Releasing on February 22, we won’t have to wait long before the fight takes us to the quagmire of Savathun, where we will undoubtedly await.
